August 2019 Find

OFFICER BRANDON HARRISON

K-9 OX

KETTERING POLICE DEPARTMENT (OHIO)

On August 23, 2019 at 1726 hours, Ptl. Brandon Harrison of the Kettering Police Department and his K9 partner Ox were dispatched to assist Beavercreek Ohio PD for a free air sniff in the lot of Home Depot. The driver of the vehicle had been acting nervous during the stop and a sniff was requested.

K9 Ox was deployed, beginning at the front passenger headlight. K9 Ox was ran both directions around the truck and he kept trying to crawl into the rear driver’s side wheel. K9 Ox would then come to a sitting final indication between the cab and bed of the truck. The interior of the truck and bed were searched as a result, where several pieces of drug paraphernalia were located. Inside the bed of the truck were glass drug pipes and several strips of LSD, which were located directly above where he was alerting in the wheel well.

The driver was arrested on felony drug charges. The probable cause established by the deployment that led to the seizure would likely have not been possible without the work of this team. The deserve credit for a job well done.
