K-9 RAJI

WARRICK COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE (INDIANA)

On 06/25/2021 Boonville Police requested K9 assistance with a wanted person. Upon arrival Boonville officers had reason to believe that the wanted person they were after had barricaded inside the residence. After obtaining consent to search and confirmation of the felony burglary warrant I gave two loud K9 warnings into the residence. With no response from anyone inside I retrieved my K9 partner, Raji, from my vehicle and gave two more loud K9 warnings from the front of the residence. After no response I released Raji into the residence and held at the front door.

Raji searched the residence off lead for several minutes. I then heard him alerting in a back bedroom inside a closet. Raji apprehended the wanted felon and the offender was ordered out into the bedroom and secured in handcuffs. No injuries were sustained by any officers involved.
