EVANSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT (INDIANA)
On June 1st. at approximately 0320 hours, officers were dispatched to 4700 E Morgan Ave (Bud’s Harley Davidson). On scene officers found a window to a service door had been busted out and upon further investigation found several items of clothing had been strewn about the business. A witness had called in saying that she observed 5 subjects dressed in black running in font of Showplace Cinemas west. K-9 Officer Matthews and his partner, K-9 Bohdan, tracked from the store to a white SUV with MO plates parked at the apartments west of the scene on Maxwell and Newton.
Six subjects were located inside the SUV all wearing Harley Davidson clothing and multiple Harley Davidson helmets. All six were detained and consent was given to search the vehicle and Bud’s manager arrived on scene and could only identify a Bluetooth Headset for a helmet that belonged to her store. The manager stated several stores (between St. Louis, Louisville, Memphis, and Indy) have been “hit” recently where the suspects would break into a service door, jump on bike that had keys left in them, and then take off with the bikes. She said that she recently just started having the keys taken out of the bikes on the floor.
